Who Are We?

We are full time pet people, house sitters, and adventurers who work remotely so we can travel the world on our own terms. We have worked hard to build a lifestyle that allows us to volunteer for animal charities, meet new pets, make new friends and experience everything the world has to offer.

This is not just another pet or travel blog…..

It is for all the pet people who want to hear all the stories of the amazing creatures we encounter.
It is for the animal lovers who want to support us as we share out time and knowledge with animals in need.
It is for all the hard-working professionals who have a vision of creating their own lifestyle outside of the daily 8-5 grind working for someone else.
It is for all the adventurers who want to travel along on our adventures in spirit or follow their own path to see the world!

Meet Alison - the Crazy Cat Vet

Alison is a New Zealand veterinarian who has a special interest in all things cat!

She has also worked for several Pacific Island charities, providing much needed resources and veterinary care to the island animals. This work inspired a dream of providing veterinary care to pets where accessing a regular vet is difficult, either due to finances, distance or a lack of veterinary services.

Her love of teaching and sharing knowledge to pet owners and veterinary professionals led her to Massey University Veterinary Teaching Hospital in New Zealand, where she taught veterinary and vet tech students during their clinical training.

Alison also works as a Telehealth Veterinarian, providing online veterinary advice via video calls - it is amazing to be able to connect with worried pet owners hundreds or thousands of miles away and provide them with the support they need for their precious pets!

Alison being a veterinarian led us to start pet and house sitting - where every pet’s needs are cared for by a trained professional while staying in the comfort of their own home when their owners travel.

Meet Graham, the keen as fisherman!

Graham is a seafarer who has traveled the world as a navigator, fisherman, yachtsman and a medical aid ship volunteer.

He is our chief dog walker and cat whisperer, and is now VATW’s drone pilot and camera man - check out our You Tube channel to see his work. He also capably stood in as a Vet Assistant when Alison was working at a Vet Clinic in Vanuatu.

Graham loves fishing and foraging for food -both in the wild and in the urban street. He has mastered brining olives, brewing fruit wines and baking no-knead bread.

His philosophies include:

“Let Food Be Your Medicine”

and

“If you don’t catch a fish then going to the local Fish-n-chip shop is ok too!”
